Are you considering a demolition project? There are many steps involved in a deconstruction project, and among those steps is making the decision about what kind of demotion you need, and what tools and machines will help get that job done. At Alpine Demolition, we perform timely, safe, modern, and sustainable deconstruction projects. We do this by ensuring we possess the best tools and machines for your toughest jobs. We are highlighting the incredible Ultra High Reach Excavators, and through this post, you will be able to determine if this Excavator is right for your next demolition job or will you need another type of excavator.

What is an Ultra High Reach Excavator?

Simply put, an Ultra High Reach Excavator is a unique model of an excavator which is identified by the long arm that has been increased to a range that is farther than a typical excavator’s reach. It is commonly used in dismantling or demolition of older buildings, but it may also be utilized in other uses, like digging and breaking up earth.

What is the Purpose of this Excavator?

When most of us think about demolition, we think about calculated explosions being utilized in a series of precise placements with exact timing.

The Ultra High Reach Excavator was designed for industrial demolition projects when the dynamite is not the best or safest option, or it is ideal for those scenarios when a structure requires extra care and must be deconstructed one piece at a time. The Excavator will give the operator the accuracy and the specific control that the traditional wrecking ball or explosive cannot afford. The purpose of these Excavators for a dismantling or demolition asset simply cannot be compared to other tools or machines. This Ultra High Reach Excavator design has been designed as an extremely versatile piece of machinery that is able to be used for a myriad of jobs and tasks, especially for high reach demolition. To make this machine even more versatile, in its original design, this Excavator includes a metal bucket posted at the end of a five-to-thirty-meter arm. That is an impressive reach, however, the metal bucket can be modified with other tools and attachments. This gives this one machine the ability to perform various jobs, these jobs can entail such projects as cutting, crushing, and shearing.

We are committed to doing timely, safe, and sustainable deconstruction in the Chicago area.  To see footage of our Ultra High Reach Excavators in action, click here to see some of our previous projects.

EC750E HR High-Reach Excavator

At Alpine Demolition, we have a 75-ton crawler high reach excavator. This powerful machine offers the ideal blend of power and steadiness to tackle a greater capacity no matter what the job is. Volvo created and introduced this Tier 4 Final compliant D16 engine. The EC750E HR high-reach excavator is a heavy-duty construction or deconstruction assistant. This Excavator delivers more horsepower of 374 kW/502 hp, and thereby ensures radically responsive maneuverability for the most productivity, precision, and profitability.

What Are the Specs?

There are several benefits these amazing Ultra High Reach Excavators bring to the worksite. These machines provide an incredible range of motion, they are efficient, safer for our workers and the surrounding area.

Range

One of the most exhilarating features of our specific EC750E HR high-reach excavator is its unmatched operating height and range. Our specific high reach excavator reaches an astounding 118 feet high.  For context, that is approximately the height of an eleven-story building. This Excavator is the longest and highest reach on the market. Not only that, but it is only the fourth of its kind in the United States of America.

If those stats are not impressive by themselves, “the excavator has a 35% increased lifting capacity over end, 50% increase in lifting capacity over the side, 12% increased max working height…” [1]

Efficient

We have said this machine is efficient. “So how does this translate to a benefit for you? By using this technology, Alpine can help you accomplish any sized job effectively and efficiently. Next, we will explore just what doors are opened by having this technology on your side.” [2]

Our EC750E Excavator heralds a 10% fuel efficiency increase! Additionally, the Excavator is a fuel-efficient machine as it does not produce exhaust gas recirculation on the engine. Because of this design, the Excavators generally use up to 20% less fuel than the fuel consumption of their competitors.

Technology Makes it Safer

Our commitment to technology also ensures a safer work site for our teams. As we alluded to before, the machinist of the Excavator has a greater degree of control over the precise movements of the long arm than when compared with the long-range excavators in its class. Interestingly, when an Ultra High Reach Excavator is equipped with a wrecking ball attachment, the machinist can effortlessly and precisely hit and demolish a building wall by wall, and floor by floor. We pride ourselves in conducting safe demolition, so by investing in this Excavator with greater precision for the machinist, we ensure a safer working site environment for our deconstruction team, the buildings located near the demolition, and any other nearby structures and objects.
