Our Work
School Demolition of St Victor School, located in the heart of Calumet City, officially closed its doors in June 2004.

St Victor School, located in the heart of Calumet City, officially closed its doors in June 2004. The school was completely surrounded by residential houses and held close ties with the surrounding community. However, due to the deteriorating condition of the unsafe building, the city ordered it to be demolished in 2019. The 2 & 3 story brick and concrete building spanned nearly the entire block on Hirsch Ave. Several existing items were desired to be salvaged from the building and much care and attention went into retrieving these items for our customer. Safety for the community was a top priority on this project including but not limited to: maintaining strict site access, dust control, and limiting the impact of construction traffic to the surrounding community. Upon the completion of the building removal the site was backfilled with clean clay and capped with 6” of pulverized topsoil. A grass seed mix and erosion control blanket were then installed completing the restoration. St Victor was yet another project delivered to our customer ahead of schedule and under budget.
