Full-Time Demolition Laborer

Use hand power tools to perform demolition insides and outsides of buildings and other structures.

  • Job Description

    All applicants MUST possess a valid 10 HOUR OSHA approved safety card (any other training a plus.) Applicants must have a minimum 5 years’ experience working in demolition.  Laborers will be expected to show up on time and work well in a team environment.


    Job Type: Full-time


    Salary: Per local union scale.

    Essential Functions:


    Use hand power tools to perform demolition insides and outsides of buildings and other structures (i.e. rip up carpet, tear down drywall, break up concrete, use torches to cut steel beams, etc.)

    Operate equipment (skid steer)

    Provide assistance to craft workers (i.e. operators)

    Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials

    Hook up water hoses and spray for dust control

    Sort debris by hand or with equipment

    Clean up job site in order to maintain a clean workspace

    Participate in job-specific safety orientation and daily job hazard analysis.

    Essential Functions:


    Work closely with project managers, engineers, owners, contractors and subcontractors to ensure their understanding of the scope-of-work, any Changes, potential Requests for Information (RFI’s), and adjustments to cost estimates prior to proposal submission

    Provide input related to project schedules in logical steps, duration required to meet contractual milestones, and completion dates of project work, including determination of all labor and equipment requirements to resource load project schedules

    Monitor project work in tandem with project management teams to ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations, corporate behavioral safety program requirements, and all company policies

    Interpret all plans, specifications, and other contract documents to Equipment Operators, and Laborers performing the demolition work onsite.

    Ensure the day-to-day operations onsite are completed safely, in an environmentally compliant manner, efficiently, and provide client interface at the site level.

    Lead in job specific safety orientation and daily job hazard analysis.

    Maintain daily field records on employees, subcontractors, disposal, equipment maintenance and safety.

Demolition Project Manager/Estimator

The Project Manager leads the design, development and proposal generation for demolition project bids and the conversion of these bids into awarded contracts.

    Company Information: Alpine Demolition Services, LLC is Chicagoland best in class demolition contractor. Alpine is a 

    full union company and works mostly in the Chicagoland Area. 


    Position Summary: The Project Manager leads the design, development and proposal generation for demolition 

    projects bids and the conversion of these bids into awarded contracts. This position is the main point of contact with 

    the customer (General Contractors, Owners) and responsible for overall project needs cradle to grave. Ensures the 

    team completes assigned projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency. 


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Reviews potential client sites and attend pre-bid meetings to assess project needs and viability for contact wins.

    • Conducts cost analysis, estimates expected projects costs, deliverables, and develops demolition plans for bids.

    • Works with Bid Coordinator to ensure all items needed to accurately submit bid proposals are included and all 

    state, local, federal requirements met.

    • Creates proposals including specifications, labor costs, subcontractor costs and equipment utilization. 

    • Acts as liaison between company, customers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors. 

    • Hires subcontractors and coordinates scheduling of the same to work in conjunction with internal laborers.

    • Addresses questions, concerns and/or complaints throughout the entire project cycle.

    • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all project phases according to budget and plan.

    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual and company regulations, standards, 

    specifications and best practices. 

    • Approves all job expenses and monitors job budgets according to plan. Notifies EVP of variances and expected 

    adjustments.

    • Reviews the following with field operations: drawings, project scope and budget. 

    • Collaborates with Safety manager to assess potential job risks; reports identified risks to operations and safety 

    management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk. 

    • Outlines project tasks, coordinates subcontractors, vendors, internal labor and delegates actions accordingly.

    • Assists Accounts Receivable in reviewing billings for work in progress, issuance and follow up on change orders 

    and processing waivers. 

    • Attends and participates in weekly job closeout meetings.

    • Works closely with operations management in order to ensure appropriate staff are assigned for project timelines 

    throughout the entire life of project cycle.

    • Performs project close out summary to include project successes and areas of improvement.

    • Performs other duties as assigned or the situation dictates.

    Education & Experience: 

    • Experience in a union environment. Construction-related business experience, a plus.

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Construction Management, Business or Engineering.

    • Prior experience developing demolition or other construction related plans including drawings, specifications, 

    estimates for total project costs including labor and subcontractor work.

    • Prior experience leading multiple teams.

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

    • Must have a valid and good driving record free of major infractions or multiple offenses

Construction Accountant Intern – Summer 2025

This position will provide you with an introduction to the functions of accounts receivable, accounts payable, along with performing general accounting duties such as reconciliation and reporting.

    full union company and works mostly in the Chicagoland Area. 


    Position Summary: The Construction Accountant Intern will perform various accounting and administration functions 

    to support the office. For the Intern, this position will provide you with an introduction to the functions of accounts 

    receivable, accounts payable, along with performing general accounting duties such as reconciliation and reporting. 

    In addition, the Intern will learn about demolition construction business operations.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities


    Accounts Receivable functions

    ▪ Sets up new job information for all vendors and contractors in the company’s ERP (business system).

    ▪ Assists with the completion of change orders by collecting field tickets, invoices and other backup.

    ▪ Obtains contractor waivers and upload into job folders.


    Accounts Payable functions

    ▪ Enters invoices from vendors, suppliers, contractors and equipment into Sage business system.

    ▪ Ensures vendor insurance certificates are up to date. Follows up as needed. 

    ▪ Obtains W-9’s from new vendors or ones that are expired and files in appropriate job folders.

    ▪ Matches invoices with work orders to ensure that proposed payments are accurate.


    Administration:

    ▪ Matches tickets with invoices and reviews for accuracy; enters into SAGE using correct cost codes/budget.

    ▪ Enters loads/tons into FieldFlo database for tracking purposes.

    ▪ Maintains salvage and waste spreadsheets monthly.

    ▪ Processes AP checks bi-weekly and ACH payments every Friday.

    ▪ Sets up new vendors in SAGE and ensures certificates of insurance and W9s are uploaded. Ensures both are 

    current prior to making vendor payments. 

    ▪ Performs administrative duties daily such as filling, answering phones, handling deliveries, etc.

    Performs other duties as assigned or the situation dictates.


    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • College student pursuing a degree in accounting, math or finance. 

    • Good work ethic – ability to be at work on time, pleasant demeanor, motivated to learn.

    • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office products – Excel, Word, Outlook.

    • Basic computer and database skills and ability to learn by using help in software program or YouTube tutorials.

    • Willingness to learn, take instruction and demonstrate motivation to complete work timely and accurately.

Demolition Project Engineer Intern- Summer 2025

    Position Summary: The Demolition Project Engineer Intern will perform various project and administration functions to support our project managers.  For the Intern, this position will provide you with an introduction on how to estimate and develop proposals for demolition projects, review contracts and develop job start schedules including labor allocation.  In addition, the Intern will learn about overall demolition construction business operations.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities


    Job Estimating:  

    • Assist project managers with contract review and flags items to be prepared and included in bids.
    • Reviews safety requirements and work with bid coordinator to ensure badging and certifications are current.
    • Assists bid coordinator by attending pre-bid meetings, delivering bids and assisting in bid preparation.
    • Prepares field start job file using both MS Excel and Field Flo construction software. 

    Project Management:

    • Assists with job start development including project manager checklists and job file set up.
    • Ensures all job start items are in place for day one of job (utility disconnects, permits, license, hydrant meters).
    • Shadows with project managers on job sites for day one of job starts.  Meets crew and other vendors onsite.
    • Assists with LEED  - recycling log fillings.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • College student pursuing a degree in engineering, construction, civil engineering or industrial management.
    • Good work ethic – ability to be at work on time, pleasant demeanor, motivated to learn.
    • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office products – Excel, Word, Outlook.
    • Basic computer and database skills and ability to learn by using help in software program or YouTube tutorials.
    • Willingness to learn, take instruction and demonstrate motivation to complete work timely and accurately. 

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times.
